How to Disable Facebook’s Ticker Feature
In a last one week facebook has changed almost complete look of its homepage by adding New News Feed, Ticker Feed and Timeline.Ticker gives the real time updates and they get updated at every fraction of second.Many people like it some found it to be annoying.The Ticker news feed is visible within the chat window itself and its size is adjustable.So,if you reduce the size of Ticker feed you can see more online people in chat bar and vice-versa.If you find Ticker feed feature useless you can easily disable it in Google chrome and Firefox..similarly like we restored old facebook chat
Although it has many limitations but it has advantages too. Those users who spend a lot of time on facebook will find it interesting to see the live activity of other people.Moreover when you move your cursor over any ticker update you can view the full story and chime in – without losing your place
If still you are not convinced and want to get rid of it then follow these steps:-
For Google Chrome:-
Open Hide Facebook Sidebar Ticker extension’s homepage in your Chrome browser and click on Add to Chrome button there.
In pop-up window click on install button.
Login to your Facebook Account and you will no longer see Ticker Feed .
For Mozilla Firefox:-
First of all install Greasemonkey Add-On to your Firefox browser.
Now Restart your Firefox and you will see a monkey icon adjacent in your Address bar.
Go to Remove Facebook Right-Column userscript page and click on the install button there and then again on install button in the pop-up window.

Open firefox browser.
Now install the greasemonkey add0n into your browser (link above).
After installation is complete restart your browser.

Now goto Tools>Greasemonkey>Userscript Commands>Customise Colours.
You will now see to boxes with colours.Select the colour you want and click on Set button
